“I had the great pleasure of teaching master classes at AZDA studios. The passion that Samantha has for great training & dance is reflected in the eyes of each and every one of her students. Although it was my first time at the studio…I left feeling like part of the AZDA family!” -Marguerite Derricks (AZDA Guest Artist/Master Teacher), Emmy Award winning choreographer, Showstoppers at the Wynn, Dancing with the Stars, Bunheads, Austin Powers, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Zumanity, Sister Act the Musical, Charlie’s Angels and Fame
“It was a wonderful experience teaching at AZDA. The students have a vast range of dance technique and personality, each one adding to the classroom experience. Miss Sam is not just a director, but a mentor. I am looking forward to teaching again in the future!”
–Sarah Smith, American Ballet Theatre dancer and AZDA Guest Artist/Master Teacher
“Challenging but warm and developmentally appropriate.
My daughter has danced here since 2011 and recently said,
‘AZDA is my happy place. I never feel sad, or angry, or jealous, or scared. I feel loved.’”
-Anne H., Parent
Just wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your students today. They all behaved impeccably and exhibited not only a hunger for dance but also a respect that is rarely seen nowadays. This tells me that their environment is nurturing yet challenging. There was not a “baby” in the lot. Thank you for inviting me to take part in the intensive. Good work.
Thank you and all the best.”
-Joseph Cavanaugh (Guest Artist), Ballet Master, Ballet Arizona
“Our daughters transferred to AZDA after spending 7 years at a previous studio. We were nervous to enter a new studio and immediately realized just how special AZDA is and how fortunate we were to be a part of a new dance family. Miss Sam and the entire AZDA family embraced our daughters with open arms, and in one week our anxiety subsided because of the amazingly positive teachers and organized front office. AZDA’s transparency makes my job as a dance parent so easy: billing, dance supplies, costumes, etc are clearly communicated and reminded through frequent Facebook and email communications. Miss Sam and her devoted staff have a true passion for dance and sincerely support dancers of all levels to become their best! We just ended our first run in the Nutcracker and the love shown to the over 60 dancers involved in this beautiful production brought tears to my eyes.
We are so thankful to be a part of the AZDA family and recommend this studio to any parent who is looking not only for amazing dance instruction, but a heart to match the passion for dance that is likely found within your children. We drive 31 miles (one-way), passing at least 5 other studios on our way and wouldn’t change our decision if paid to attend another studio. ”
-Tara C. , Parent to a 7-year-old and 14-year-old dancer
